What is the 20th Anniversary PS4 and is it worth buying?
The 20th
Anniversary PS4 is a special edition of the PlayStation 4 console, released to celebrate 20 years of PlayStation. It is worth buying if you are a fan of PlayStation history and want a unique console that combines nostalgia with modern gaming capabilities.
- 20th Anniversary PS4
- A limited-edition console released by Sony to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the PlayStation brand.
- PS4 anniversary edition
- Refers to the special design and features of the 20th Anniversary PS4, including a retro-themed design and exclusive accessories.
I recently purchased the 20th Anniversary PS4 for my gaming setup, and I found it to be a great addition for both retro and modern gaming. Here’s how I evaluated it:
- Check the design and aesthetics – The console features a retro-inspired design with a white and black color scheme, reminiscent of the original PlayStation 1.
- Verify the hardware specifications – The 20th Anniversary PS4 is essentially a standard PS4 Slim model with a special casing. It supports all PS4 games and features.
- Look for exclusive content – The console often comes with a free digital copy of a classic PlayStation game, such as Final Fantasy VII or Gran Turismo 5.
In my case, the console came with Final Fantasy VII, which I had never played before. It was a great way to experience a classic title on a modern system.
The
20th anniversary PS4 theme and accessories are designed to enhance the nostalgic experience of the console. You can easily set up the theme and accessories by following these steps:
- Download the 20th anniversary PS4 theme – Go to the PlayStation Store and search for the 20th anniversary theme. It is usually available for free with the purchase of the console.
- Install the theme – Once downloaded, go to the PS4 settings, select “Themes,” and apply the 20th anniversary theme to your home screen.
- Use the 20th anniversary PS4 housing – If you purchased the special edition, the console already has the anniversary design. If not, you can buy a third-party housing to give your PS4 a retro look.
I applied the 20th anniversary theme to my PS4 and it instantly transformed the look of my console. The theme includes retro icons and background images that make the console feel like a throwback to the PlayStation 1 era.
